SYMPOSIUM – OLYMPIC VALUES & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
February 12, 2026
Milano, Italy
For the first time, four distinguished organisations—Panathlon International, the Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CIPC), the International Fair Play Committee (CIFP),
and the International Society of Olympic Historians (ISOH)—came together to discuss how they are stronger "together." This inaugural meeting took place on August 2, 2024, at Morning Panorama, 36
rue Vivienne, Paris, during the Olympic Games. It quickly became clear that the gathering was more than a meeting: it was a celebration of shared values, a renewed commitment to the Olympic
spirit, and a collective pledge to inspire future generations. The second part of the meeting focused on data analysis and discussion around the question: "Which topics are best suited for
collaboration?" The results, visualised in a word cloud, highlighted the Olympic values, their application, and educational initiatives as key priorities. Other shared interests include promoting
peace and documenting the history of the Olympic Movement.
Since the release of Olympic Games – The Design, growing interest and the increasing integration of Olympic and Paralympic design made a second expanded edition unfeasible. In 2023, I developed a new approach: creating a dedicated design book for each Games. Both my publisher and the IOC endorsed the concept, granting rights, resources, and support under the “Olympic Heritage” label. The first volume, The Design of Paris 2024, will serve as a pilot project. In 2024, I met with many designers and agencies in Paris to document their creative processes and gather first-hand insights for this book.
Supported by information, images, and graphics, as well as loans from the Osterwalder Collection – this exhibition section highlights the evolution of tennis from its early roots to the modern game. Originating from jeu de paume in 16th-century Europe, the sport gradually developed into lawn tennis in 19th-century England. Played in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, tennis returned to the Olympic programme in 1988 and today reaches its global peak at the four Grand Slam tournaments.
