Lillehammer 1994 – Look of the Games (Crystal patterns)

Designer: Designgruppen’94

The Games Organising Committee, asked Designgruppen’94 to create basic visual elements that could be used in combination and on large surfaces. From this specification, a serrated, two-dimensional crystal pattern was created, inspired by Norwegian nature like snow and ice, stone and rock. This pattern worked both alone and in combination with other basic elements. Designgruppen’94 developed it as a transitional pattern between two colours, on the one hand, and as an two-dimensional pattern that can be repeated as often as desired in all directions, on the other. The crystal pattern was very popular with sponsors and was used in a variety of ways.
