Athens 1896 – Coat of Arms

No emblem was designed for the Games of the I Olympiad in Athens 1896. This coat of arms is not recognized by the IOC and is not an official emblem. It contains several sports symbols and was barely used during these Olympic Games. As a decorative element, this coat of arms was attached to the flagpoles, which were seen at the top of the Panathenaic Stadium.
